Well-known and respected sports journalist Bill Huber brings his deep Packers knowledge and connection to Sports Illustrated with Packer Maven. A part of digital media coalition Maven’s (ticker symbol MVEN) Sports Illustrated brand, Packer Maven is one of many team-specific channels boosting local coverage at SI.
“I am excited by the new direction of Sports Illustrated, bringing back localized, in-depth coverage for each team,” said Huber. “I’ve devoted my career to providing honest, strong coverage of the team, uncovering the true heart of Green Bay. I am honored to continue that same level of professional coverage at Sports Illustrated.”
Packer Maven brings daily analysis, gameday insights, and breaking news to Green Bay Packers fans the world over. Huber uses a stats- and analytics-based approach to enlighten readers, digging into the numbers and asking questions that uncover the trends central to winning and losing. Along with his famous and in-depth World’s Best Previews, he dives into telling players’ stories through words and video, whether it’s the breakout star or the rookie who comes out of nowhere to make a run at a roster spot. When the season is over, Huber is renowned for his draft coverage. Before the 2019 draft, he wrote more than 250 prospect features that included analysis, stats, and anecdotes.
Huber comes to Packer Maven from Packer Report, where he covered the Packers since 2008. Before that, he worked at the Green Bay Press-Gazette and Green Bay News-Chronicle. Follow him on Twitter at @BillHuberSI.
Under Maven’s wing, Sports Illustrated will continue to develop and distribute the world-class stories and videos that readers expect from the brand, and is investing in great journalism by adding 200+ team-specific reporters in the field.
