SEATTLE — Tom LaMarre and Frank Cooney, who together have been experts on the Oakland Raiders since the franchise began in 1960, are reprising their famous two-man coverage to enlighten and entertain Raider Nation via on the Maven (ticker symbol MVEN) digital media coalition. Their site is fully underway with news, analysis, and insight available only from these two veteran journalists.

In June, Maven announced the launch of its sports network and is rolling out channels for all 32 NFL teams and major NCAA schools and will follow with every professional sport, including all major professional teams across the globe. An alliance with The Sports Xchange (TSX) — which Cooney founded and where LaMarre has served as a reporter since 2001 — is jump-starting the effort.

LaMarre’s sports writing career began in 1964 with the Oakland Tribune, where he worked for 15 years, seven as the Raiders’ beat writer. He also covered the Oakland A’s, Golden State Warriors and other collegiate and professional sports teams and leagues. In 1979, LaMarre moved to the Los Angeles Times, continuing his Raiders coverage when they moved to L.A.
